Again Kwara fire service saves another fuel tanker from explosion

Personnel of the Kwara State Fire Service again saved a petrol tanker from burning during a road accident on Thursday.

This incident, according to the spokesman of the State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, occurred at about 09:49hrs at Shao junction, Bode-Saadu – Jebba expressway, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was caused as a result of head-on collision involving a trailer with Reg. no. PKM141ZY with a full load of motorcycles and a petrol tanker, with Reg. No FLK105FA, loaded with 45,000litres of PMS due to wrong overtaking by one of the trailers.

However, no life was lost in the incident, DAILY POST reports.

The firemen were at the scene for hours and kept cooling the fuel tanker to prevent any form of fire outbreak until the whole siphoning process was done.

Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa advised tanker drivers to always drive safely as they could only live once.
